A day of mindfulness practice at Amaravati led by Chris Ward

You are welcome to attend a day of mindfulness practice at Amaravati on the 15th December. We open at 9.30 for hot drinks in the Retreat Centre Kitchen and commence in the shrine room at 10am.

The day is open to all and requires no booking or previous experience.

See here for some frequently asked questions about the way the day is organised.

The morning will be spent in meditation and mindfulness practice and instruction will be given. After a shared meal there will be a talk, questions and answer and discussion.

The theme for the day is ‘Integrity’ – the sense of wholeness, self-respect and honesty that we can recognise and bear witness to in our daily interactions and behaviours and which is the opposite of hypocrisy, dishonesty and self-delusion.

At the end of the day just before we finish we will review the 2012 year for the Amaravati Lay Buddhist Association (ALBA),  and changes on the committee, and ask for any feedback from participants.

Our teachings are based upon our own experience in practising the path of awakening as lay-people and as described in early Buddhism – that documented in the Pali Nikayas – and forming the basis of Theravada Buddhism as practised by the Forest Sangha at Amaravati as well as most forms of mainstream Buddhism.
